Event Attire

Attire should be at least appropriate for Black Tie or evening formal wear. Costume de Riguer (white-tie and tails for men, floor length gowns and white gloves for women) is the customary attire for a Mardi Gras ball; it is encouraged but is not mandatory.

Military uniforms are also not mandatory but can be worn as a personal choice. If worn, the military uniform should at least be Dinner Dress Blue Jacket (O4 and above), Dinner Dress Blue (E7-O3), Service Dress Blue “Alpha” (E6 and below), or the service equivalent.

Ball attire in styles dating back to the Louisiana Purchase are especially authorized by his Excellency and will be met with the most triumphant acclaim.
